forty weeks - DUE DATE!
well it's happy due date day! and that's a day to celebrate, right? i mean c'mon, not everyone makes it this far & that's something to be happy about, amiright? ok, i'm reaching.
i actually kinda sorta saw this coming. at our early ultrasounds they dated this baby a few days later than what was based off my last missed period but since it was within the acceptable margin of error they just kept the due date from my LMP so we went with it. it's all just a big estimate anyway, right? stupid science.
we had our 40 week check up yesterday. they offered to strip my membranes with the disclaimer of "if baby's ready & your hormones are just right & blah blah blah... it might kickstart labor within 12 to 48 hours." well that was way too much disclaimer for me when it wasn't even my due date yet so we opted not to. i am only dilated to a 2 & have been like that for two weeks now, so for me? that means baby needs to keep hanging out. and i'm ok with that, seriously. yes we're in this weird inbetween stage of waiting but whatevs... he'll come out eventually, right?
we set up an appointment for a non-stress test on monday if he's not here yet & will think about induction at 41 weeks. we'll see.
in the meantime i guess it's just another day to kick it with p-ray as my one & only & maybe another weekend o' fun with my two main men. repeat after me: no one has ever been pregnant forever... he'll be here soon enough :)

Not much longer now, enjoy the last bit of time. Lots of baths and relaxing :)
ReplyDeleteI was induced at 41wks with my first, and I remember the waiting. And waiting. And waiting. It was a long week! I hope this baby doesn't keep you waiting that long, but if he does, that you can enjoy the lots days of your pregnancy with him!
ReplyDeletenot much longer! :)

I agree with the above! Not much longer!
ReplyDeleteI am nervous about the end of my pregnancy! I am really hoping that I won't be miserable either. I want to try and be patient, but I bet that is hard!
you have a great attitude about it! And I can't wait to "meet" the little one!
Good luck with little man #2! I have loved reading your pregnancy updates, but I'm really looking forward to seeing those precious newborn pics. And I'm dying to know his name!

ReplyDeleteI was past due with my first and she was a big baby at almost 10 lbs. But, she was healthy, happy, and ready to explore her new world. You can do it :) Just make sure he doesn't get too big to fit in that canal so you can avoid a cesarean! Good luck, and enjoy your 2 little boys!!
ReplyDeleteTo each their own, but I would have declined my membranes stripped either. I was all for baby coming on his own and didn't want any medical intervention to get me going. I did have a prenatal massage at 3 days overdue which sent me into labor and I had him the next morning, though...but c'mon! It's a massage - I highly recommend!!
ReplyDeletethat's so crazy but my best friend's due date was today too but she actually ended up going into labor today. Just sitting here, waiting to hear if the baby was born. Good luck!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNever heard of stipping the membranes, hmmmm. Lookin' great though girl (as usual)! Glad you are feeling good and that you are more excited than nervous! You sound ready!
ReplyDeleteSending you lots of happy, healthy labor vibes!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'd have had mine stripped either. Obviously baby boy isn't quite ready ye so I agree with letting him hang out a bit more. :) As long as YOU aren't terribly uncomfortable, then I'd just go with it. Until the big moment comes, I'll continue to stalk your Facebook Page. :)
ReplyDeletehappy due date mamma! Def. smart ( i think!!) on not getting membranes stripped. I had to have that done at 40 and 41 weeks (had him at 42 weeks) and it was SO painful. Probably more painful than giving birth to a 15.5 in head. Enjoy your last few days as a mamma of 1!! PS you look fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI keep checking in to see how you're doing (and on IG). Can't wait to see that baby with you guys!
