the days of our super cute mom-&-son pictures are temporarily suspended.
to hold parker on my hip & tell him to look at the camera & smile is like trying to cuddle a rabid raccoon. i swear the kid has perfected how to make himself go limp & become dead weight the second i pick him up. i say "temporarily" suspended because you better believe this boy will be posing with his mama on his wedding day.
but for now? he'd much rather be on the ground running around doing this:
see how happy he is now? whatever.
we had an awesome weekend. sam & i got out friday night & dressed up like big kids & went to a fancy pants party downtown seattle for his work. ya know, the kind where you rsvp & pick your food selection in advance. i had the prime rib, thanks for asking. it was the first time we had a sitter stay at our house & put parker to bed while we stayed out past eight. it went great &
oh my gosh, the possibilites! we almost got giddy at the idea of going to movies, fancy restaurants, & mariner's games sans p-ray. don't get me wrong, we love toting him around & missed him & thought about him constantly while we were out. but ya know? sometimes you just gotta feel like an adult.
plus, it makes the heart grow fonder. i had to keep myself from texting the sitter every 30 minutes for updates & kept it to hourly. you do that too, right?
then sunday we got all dressed up & went to church. here's what p-ray & i wore:
{linking up with mandy... like i usually do.}
ok so yeah, that's actually the top that is actually a dress. {confused? check out "thursday" in my last post}. i love it as a top, but it's pretty dang cute as a dress too, so i'm sure it'll be making an appearance soon. i know, you can't wait right? me either.
so i hope everyone had a great weekend & has an awesome week ahead of them. we're looking forward to a couple playdates & some rain. no seriously, i'm pretty sure our summer has come & gone. remember that one post about summer? yup, that was it.
oh well, bring on the hoodies & sweaters & boots & football. heck yeah fall!
i'm also ready for a couple clicks? cuz that'd be cool.
Gosh you are gorgeous. I love that shirt/dress. So funny about the dead weight. I remember that well with Dusytn. ha ha. YAY for a night out. We went out Friday night without the boys but only for 2 hours. ha ha.
ReplyDeleteYou look fantastic, love the ensemble! My recent SOS posts have been just me, solo, no babe. He's not having it lately ... grrrr!
ReplyDeleteParker is truly one of the most adorable little boys everrr. I love his eyes! You look great, as always, and I'm totally jealous of your remixing skills - I'd never have thought to do a dress to shirt combo.
ReplyDeleteerik and i left the house saturday night and i called his mom three times {between 7 and 11}. three.
ReplyDeleteyour hair looks amazing. dark. love.
maybe it was something in the water... cuz i think i gave birth to part rabid racoon too! haha silly kids. what a cute feller he is! and you look too cute!
ReplyDeleteYou look fabulous in yellow.
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful and I just want to squeeze Parker, his cheeks are so sweet!! Love that dress as a top! I've been wearing mine constantly, it's so light and cool!
ReplyDeletei love your post! you look absolutely beautiful and Parker is adorable as always!! It's crazy that once they become so mobile they dont want to sit still for anything! Glad you guys had fun on your date... it sounded wonderful!! :)
ReplyDeleteyou seriously crack me up with all your Target runs. it would be unbelievable if i didn't know it was true! also, parker might be squirmy, but he's still looking cute!
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous! and Parker looks so handsome, I love both of your outfits. Glad you guys had a good time! and yes you should do it more often :)
ReplyDeleteIs Parker chuckin' things at you yet??? We are fighting a tough battle with Christian. He LOVES to throw things and many times we just happen to be in the way (I say that sarcastically) =/ You know how bad a hot wheel feels across the forehead? and he slaps =/ SERENITY NOW!! We've had to step up the disciplining lately...he knows exactly what he's doing now.
ReplyDeleteYou are both so cute! I'm lovin' the top. Dress. Top?
ReplyDeleteLike cuddling a rabid raccoon! ha! You crack me up.
ReplyDeleteYou're looking beautiful, as usual! :) Love the yellow.
Yup, gone are the days of Ellie standing nicely for the camera too, hence why I have so much trouble getting the focus right on my pictures these days! A friend of mine brought her "still immobile" baby over this weekend and I went on a picture hayday with him. It was SO easy to take great pictures because he just sat there and smiled!
ReplyDeleteYou looked great this weekend! Happy Monday!
♥ Kyna
so, yeah. you are freaking adorable.those pictures of you trying to pose with parker reminds me a little (okay, A LOT) like what i'd have to go thru with corbin! ah well, like u said. there's always their wedding day...
ReplyDeleteOooh, your pencil skirt is making me miss my pre-pregnancy favorite. I refuse to buy a new one because I am still holding out on fitting into it again soon! Super cute top/dress!!
ReplyDeleteI love your skirt! You look so good in those pictures!!
ReplyDeleteAh, I love the go-limp trick! Almost as much as the grab-a-handful-of-mom's-hair-and-pull-trick. That's what my boys do for pics or when I'm trying to get them in their carseats. Ug. Good thing we have such cuties!
ReplyDeleteI love your style mama! Can't believe you slipped a dress under that pencil skirt and look so good! Cracking up about Parker, I totally know that dead weight thing! Oh and yeah, I text the babysitter every 30 mins.
ReplyDeletei dont have to mention that you look great, oops, i just did... and p-ray is such a little handsome boy. so, totally agree that you have to feel adult sometimes, just keep looking for that "sometimes"... have a great week
ReplyDeletethat is too funny! (The top pictures) You are adorable! LOve the outfit!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I feel ya-- there's no picking them up if they don't want it... you guys like so cute, though!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it only goes downhill from here... lol. Just kidding.
