parker & i had so so SO much fun walking in the march of dimes on saturday. and it was the kind of fun that lasted into the entire rest of the day because it felt so good to be a part of such an awesome cause. who knew doing good things for other people could feel so rewarding?
our little stroller strides team of ten girls raised a total of $1,485 that will go towards healthy baby research! and due to the amazingness of my friends & family, parker & i were able to meet our $100 fundraising goal in just four days. thank you thank you thank you... again.
so we set out at 8:00am saturday morning to walk six miles along some amazing scenery through downtown olympia. and it didn't even rain on us either, so that was a bonus.
per the uge, parker was a champ. he didn't complain at all during the whole thing! he was happy to just sit with his snacks & watch the scenery go by. except of course when we stopped for some swag. no one told me there would be booths handing out free stuff along the way... like ding dongs, donut holes, granola bars, trail mix, & more. that was just a perk. a delicious, gluttonous perk.
six miles later, we were all feeling pretty good. can't wait to do it again next year!
sidenote: anyone else notice the face parker is making in every single picture? yeah, i don't know either. apparently the scrunched up face/nose look is the new smile. weirdo.
Ha! What a cutie-- I love the new faces they come up with every week. Funnier every time. And congrats on the walk. Sounds like a great success!
