- while cleaning the house today, i realized i'm the messiest member of my family. i'm also the one who spends the most time cleaning the house. something is wrong with this picture. why am i so messy?? i could significantly reduce my own workload if i just learned to not make messes. if you have this figured out, let me know.
- parker's entered into the stage of tantrum throwing. it's both hilarious & horrifying. he'll cry like the world is ending but at any given second he can turn it off & be fine. luckily, this stage also coincides with his new love of dancing, which involves head banging & booty shaking. he's obviously learned these moves from me.
- i washed the same load of laundry three times this week before i finally remembered to put it in the dryer. twitter tells me this is normal behavior.
- sam deserves an award/plaque/trophy/medal/best-husband-of-the-year-award for suggesting i take a girl's weekend & go spend a night in a hotel with friends. he suggested this after i got a little too excited at the idea of a-just-me-&-him-vacation to hawaii... only, the part i got really excited about was six hours in a plane to just sit & be quiet.
- i am totally drawn to vintage hats lately. every time i see one i have to put it on, make my mirror face, & then take a picture. {everyone has a mirror face, right?} i'm kinda in love with the middle hat. but where do you even wear that? and what do you wear it with? i feel like i'd have to go to the races or something. i totally would.
- i may or may not have taken a pregnancy test the other night because my stomach felt poochy. it was negative & i may or may not have been disappointed. mostly because it means i need to stop eating like crap. but also because there's no baby in my belly.
the end.
two clicks to vote if you like random thoughts for your random thursday.
The middle hat rules...& I'd so go to a race just to wear it.
ReplyDeleteSad face for the babyless pooch.
Ugh temper tantrums! I'm also the messiest member of MY family. Especially with a toddler. I AM I AM I AM!!! Yes, mommies have NO BREAKS :( boo hoo. I hope he cools it with the temper tantrums. I know they for sure don't go away all together. They are on it like a switch. ON & OFF when they feel like it. Oh gosh. I just did that I washed the same load 4x actually. It wasn't because I HAD to wash it it's because I had no CHOICE I kept it in the washer and just kept forgetting to grab it.
ReplyDeleteLove those hats! The middle one is sweet. I use to get bummed when I felt pregnant but wasn't. I wanted a "pouch" to mean something except fat. But, good luck to you sweetie.
Looking good by the way. And parker is adorable!
Toodles. Have a nice week.
i must be at least 6 months pregnant if this isn't chub around my waist. neither one sounds very appealing to me right now. lol.
ReplyDeletei have a load that needs to be rewashed right now! that happens far more often than i would like to brag about in our house.
dude, i totally rewash crap a million times. it's something i'm really known for. uggggh....
ReplyDeleteoh man, and the tantrums, those are the worst! and i know you know this, but it gets sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much worse. like, to the point where you're looking at your child and you're convinced he's the spawn of satan. oh wait, is that just me? that's probably just me.
although, parker always seems so happy that i doubt you'll have any problems! cute little pudgy baby.
Oh no- you just reminded me of the wash I left in the machine last night! And I am always so envious of how great other people look in hats. I never have the guts to actually try one out.
ReplyDeleteNiall's new temper tantrum style involves making his whole body go limp so that no matter what I do, I'm hurting him if I let go. He just drops straight to the floor and hits his head. I do love those hats, too! I was supposed to go thrift shopping today for my bday, but I'm sooo sick. Boo :(
ReplyDeleteOh the dreaded rewash. I can't tell you how often I do that. Such a pain! Sorry about the no baby in the belly...that would have been exciting.xo
ReplyDeleteBuy the middle hat, You'll find an occasion where you can wear it!
ReplyDeleteI hear you, girl. Those temper tantrums are not fun. The cute dancing does compensate though, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteWould this girls weekend involve bloggy boot camp? Or... have you ditched us for another set of cool girls? ;-)
ReplyDeleteI totally washed the same load of laundry twice last week. I blame it on mommy brain.
I love vintage hats, too! We should go thrifting!
I took a pregnancy test two months ago cause I was late. And I definitely may or may not have been disappointed that it was negative, too.
baahahahahhaha, the laundry. i'm guilty.
ReplyDeleteI like the red hat! And I do the laundry thing all the time!
ReplyDeleteOk Ames, I have some hat suggestions for you. Take it or leave it. haha The felt hat could totally work for rainy days/snow days. The straw hat (middle one) you could wear this summer at like hoopfest, when you just want the sun off your face and scalp. And the other one is just a fun hat you could wear anywhere. You could dress it up for nighttime or dress is down for daytime. AND there it is.....my amazing advice :)
ReplyDeleteHaha This cracked me up. I remember when my daughter started throwing tantrums. Now that she is walking she throws herself on the floor from a standing position kicking, give her what she wants and it's over in seconds. Sometimes I have to laugh becasue it's so fake! Silly kids.
ReplyDeleteOh and I also have redone laundry numerous times because I forgot to put it in the dryer. Oh the life of a SAHM! :)
That red hat = awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI'm usually pretty good about the laundry, however, I do currently have some sweaters in the laundry room that need to be rewashed. Hey, us ladies can't be totally perfect, right? ;)
Love the hats!
ReplyDeleteI'm so over the temper tantrums already! Considering we've got another 2.5 years to go before they aren't so frequent, that's probably a bad sign, huh??
I'm often the big mess maker and I like to take HUGE offense to other people's messes whenever mine are pointed out. Need to stop keeping score and just stop with the messes already!!
I love the word random - gives so much latitude! I love ALL the hats and you could pull off wearing them anywhere you want! The middle one does goes with the colors you usually wear... Bummer on the pregnancy test that you may or may not have been disappointed about. oxox
ReplyDeleteAll of the hat are so cute! I especially love that red hat! The only type of hat that I can wear are beanies. I look horrid in rimmed hats. I took TWO pregnancy tests this week, both negative. BUT I was happy they were. Okay so maybe a little part of me wanted it to be possitive.
ReplyDeleteI love the red hat - so cute! Actually, I like all the hats, you should get them all. And I know just what you mean about the pooch. I may or may not have done the same exact thing more than once ;)
ReplyDeleteI love randomness sometimes. :) Great post!
ReplyDeleteI love the first hat, too! I just love the color!
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge fan of Real Simple's 10 Minute Clean-up Soluations (or something like that). I have to stay on it or the mess piles up, too.

I love this...so true. I've been dreaming about a girls weekend away at a local hotel for weeks now. I just can't seem to find the time to actually do it! Sounds so nice!!!! I hope you do it ASAP.
ReplyDeleteBTW, the message above is from me...I'm using Ashley's computer. I don't want her to get the credit...:) XOXO
ReplyDeleteat least you know your husband reads your blog ;)
ReplyDeleteHey Kari is trying to steal my comment! ;)
ReplyDeleteYou have an awesome hubby! Mine actually suggested a hotel to me tonight because I hit the mommy wall once again. I hope you get a baby in the pooch if you want one! :)
1. I love the fedora!! 2. Could you make a video of Parkers dancing? 3. I often tell Charlie if anyone asks, just say I'm pregnant, not I overate again.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I've totally done the laundry thing before!! Hasn't everyone?
i meant to comment on this one back when you posted it. because i think you've been secretly looking through my window.
ReplyDeleteyour first description of you making the mess in your house is EXACTLY how i am. i'm so overwhelmed by crap being spread everywhere, then i sit back & realize i did most of it.
a trick? get out of the house for the afternoon! haha if nobody's there to make a mess, it stays clean.
