i work part-time... like, very part time. my one day in the office does a lot for me though. it helps me regenerate my brain cells a little & helps me remember who i was pre-parker. it helps me keep my foot in the door for the possibility of returning to work full-time in the future, & it helps supplement our income enough to keep me going back each week.
but another thing it does? it really really makes me miss my little boy. today i missed a whole day in his life & i missed watching him explore all the new things around him. everyday he does something new & continues to form this little personality that is just a total blast to get to know. my time in the office really makes me appreciate the days i have at home with him.
i hope i never take a single day for granted.
i just love this little guy.
also? i just love your little votes.
oh man. this kinda made me tear up. so so sweet. with us moving back into our house its a possibility that i might have to get a very part time job too and the thought just hurts my heart. but i see how it can be bitter sweet and be just enough to recharge your mom battery! love the armpit cleaning shot! oh parker. i love your face!
ReplyDeleteAwww. So sweet! I am glad you get to have that day to recharge.
ReplyDeleteI think all Mama's should have a VERY part time, one day a week job, like you. LOL! Now I need one. I think it's a necessary think to recharge your batteries.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking for a part-time job right now so I can recharge. But missing something new that Carson may do would break my heart.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet post. I bet that one day to recharge is nice! Might be something I should look into. :)
ReplyDeleteI love that little cow duck! It's almost as cute as Parker!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! I am envious of your situation. That is my dream - to be able to work part-time. I hate being away from my son every day. I currently work full-time and with the commute I'm gone from 6:45-5:30 every day. It kills me to miss that much time with him, so I know how you feel!
ReplyDeleteI can imagine that one day per week does wonders for you - I think you need the break if you're home 24/7 with a little one.
I so wish I could go back to my old job 1 day a week. I think it would give me an even greater appreciation of my time at home with the boys, and I could get back in the loop with all of the co-worker gossip :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures as always! So grateful your life is so nicely balanced! oxox
ReplyDeleteSo sweet!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet post:) I love his little chubby arms, such cute pictures! Have a great day!
ReplyDeletewhat kind of job do you do one day a week? i am a cpa, which can lend itself to part-time-ish. one day a week sounds perfect.
ReplyDeleteOh those rolls...nom nom nom!
ReplyDeleteHa! I love the stategically placed cow :)
ReplyDeleteBut I totally know what you mean. I work part time, as well. I've finally found a good balance and I feel comfortable with it.....but there are still days where I so wish I wasn't missing out on any single second with my baby!
I'm so glad that you have a job that allows you some flexibility. i love hearing about your days at home with Parker, and your days at work :)
So precious! Absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeletei love your blog so much.))*

Awe, well Parker is lucky to have you 6 days a week. And you're right, being gone all day from him on your "in office" day will really help you keep things in perspective. Love those squishy baby bathtime pics!
ReplyDeleteAw. I work 5 days a week. It's tough. :X
