maybe today i went tanning.

actually, i'm pretty sure i did.

also?  maybe i closed my eyes & pretended i was laying on a beach.  i needed that today.  it was one of those days where you wake up & are ready for it to end before it begins.  it was a marathon day.  it was my day in the office.  i realize i'm very fortunate to stay home as much as i do, & also have a great job.  but the whole process of getting up, getting ready, & getting parker to heather's to be baby-sat was enough to make me pull the covers over my head.

so after work, i went tanning.  i listened to jack johnson while i laid there & i pretended i was somewhere else.  i didn't think about all the things i needed to do that night, i just listened to jack's voice & pretended the fans were the ocean breeze.

and maybe i pretended i was here.

yup. i did.

  1. I haven't been tanning since high school. Yes, HIGH SCHOOL! I miss it. That will definitely be what I ask for for mother's day... A membership. :)

  2. I miss the beach. I really need to hop back into that water really soon. I need a damn tan. YOu'd think living here I'd take the most advantage of the sunshine but gosh I hate it. I'm like a vampire. I'm dead sleeping during the day, being a hermit, and I'm up & ready for a brand new day come sunset! haha. JK. I know what the feels like to want it to end before it begins. I had that day today! it was horrid.

Anyways, I have an award awaiting your acceptance doll. Happy Aloha Friday, TGIF.

  4. Coming home from vacation is the WORST! It takes so long to finally accept that it's over. I used to post 4 or 5 of my favorite places on my cubicle walls, so I could pretend I was there whenever work got stressful.

  6. Me + tanning = bad news. I have exactly two colors, pasty white and lobster red. Nothing in between!

  8. Every time I go tanning I love to pretend I am on the beach too! There is something so relaxing about taking time away from your day and just focusing on yourself. I hope that your day gets better! P.S. I love your little boys sun hat, so cute!

  10. Oh my gosh. I haven't been tanning in 3 years! I want to go sooo bad. I'm in terrible need of some vitamin D. And I'm sorry your day was frustrating! I'm already having one of those days today. Ugh.

  11. Unfortunately when I go tanning I still look pale :/ It's all about the mystic tan for us redheads. And being sprayed with a breathtakingly freezing cold mist just isn't quite as relaxing as laying in a tanning bed daydreaming. I think you made the right choice after a crummy day. I hope today is better, and leads you into a great weekend!! :)
