before ya'll start thinking those "no wonder your kid is sick" thoughts, i did wipe down the handle with a clorox wipe upon entering the store. that makes this not so bad, right? RIGHT?
please vote. for the sake of us "sometimes-less-than-perfect" moms. thank you.
also, i'm linking up with the paper mama, a beautiful mess & on cloud nine because this photo secretly makes me smile. oops.
Spencer does the same thing. Interestingly, he just got over a cold... But if he doesn't lick the cart, he just licks random canned goods.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Makes me think I should be wiping down my carts! :)
ReplyDeleteHa ha! You are just building up his immunity for when he gets older. Dustyn used to do this.
ReplyDeleteaww... That isn't that bad. Atleast you wiped it down.. I love how babies just HAVE to feel stuff with their mouths!
ReplyDeleteI swear those handles are like magnets for babies mouths.
ReplyDeletehonestly, the real crime is the person who uses that cart AFTER you. :)
ReplyDeleteSo funny! Crazy how they are attracted to doing some of the grossest stuff the most.
ReplyDeleteMy son did the same thing one time, in Costco. I could have thrown up thinking about the germs that could have gotten in his mouth. BUT I was even more "Mother of the Year" material then you ;), I hadn't wiped down the handle! He was way older then Parker, so why in the world would I have thought he'd randomly lick the cart!??!?! :)
ReplyDeletehahaha. i always look at the wipes they have at the grocery store and think, "you know, i really ought to use one of those." i think now i might have to start.
ReplyDeletei just love that you stopped to take a picture of it.
Pie is right there too. She will move the cart cover to get at what's underneath...yuck!
ReplyDeleteif you wiprd down the cart that totally makes you mom of the year. and btw, I was at Target yesterday and Charlie was totally chomping on the cart, and this lady came over to tell me that that was "dirty". um, really? ; )
ReplyDeleteLOL let's be honest...kids are just going to do that. And it'll build up their immunity. Kids that don't come in contact with any sort of nastiness are likely to get more sick. Of course, that's coming from a non-parent but I read a lot...does that count. :)
ReplyDeleteYah... I don't stress over that kind of stuff. You can't keep them from getting sick no matter what you do. I try, I try.
ReplyDeleteLove the pic!
OMG I laughed so hard at this picture!!! I LOVE IT!!! At least you wiped it off. I wouldn't have thought to do that!
ReplyDeleteHaha this is funny. I would cringe if my baby did it, but hey you can't stop them from everything! I've learned with my nieces & nephews :)
ReplyDeleteHa! Oh goodness I love this. :)
ReplyDeleteThat photo is priceless :) Love your blog.
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Ha.
ReplyDeleteOMG, that is awesome! Reminds me of the series I have of my older daughter eating dog kibble - isn't it funny how we don't put down the camera long enough to stop them...
ReplyDeleteThat is way too funny! Seriously. His expression is KILLING me.
ReplyDeleteSo funny! This is definitely a picture you will want to save to show him when he is older. :)
ReplyDeletehaha! Love that expression on Parker!
ReplyDeleteAt least you wipe it, I never think to and my kid SUCKS on that thing. Yum.
ReplyDeleteyea, stella does that on a daily outing basis.
ReplyDeleteum, could his expression be anymore priceless as he goes in for the kill?!
It seriously makes no difference what you do, babes dig cart handles! Kids just have to gnaw on those shiny, rubbery-looking doo-dads. You're an awesome mama, this is so not a fail :)
ReplyDeletesuch a great picture!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, this picture had me laughing so much!
ReplyDeleteIt's too cute.
Don't feel bad, Adrienne tries and sometimes succeeds at doing the very same thing whenever we venture out.
We usually take a large blanket with us and wrap it all around the cart, so she can't put her mouth on any of it.
But hey, I'm sure all little kids do that and as long as you wiped it off then you shouldn't worry.
Germs are always lurking around unfortunately.
This pic rocks! :) At least he isn't screaming while you are trying to shop.
ReplyDeleteThis picture is amazing! He is definitely just building up his immune system... smart!
ReplyDeletei read your text before the photo loaded, that is laugh out loud funny
ReplyDeleteoh please..Kids do that! that does not mean you are a horrible parent! Kids just get sick!

ReplyDeleteI love that you had your camera and were able to capture the moment. That's a classic shot for sure! HA HA HA!!
ReplyDeleteHahahahahahahahaha I busted up laughing!!! What a cutie!!!
ReplyDeleteSeriously best picture ever. I'm dying!
ReplyDeleteHAHA, aw! Cute!
ReplyDeleteLove this love him. I don't think he can get any cuter and then he does. Seriously make my heart melt!!!
ReplyDeleteLet's just hope the next mom to use this cart wipes it down. Elijah likes to lick shoes. I'm not sure which is worse!
ReplyDeleteI'm just wondering if you always take your DSLR grocery shopping?!
ReplyDeleteFunny!
ReplyDeleteBy the time you have another kid, you'll be hoping he or she likes to lick the cart, that way you can shop in peace until your oldest announces he has to pee... =)
Hey, it's cheaper than a teething ring!
ReplyDeleteI do wonder if our children get sick so much is because of all the anti-bacterial items on the market. Our bodies have to build a resistance to bacteria and the only way to do that is to be exposed to it repeatedly.
ReplyDeletethis is highly hilarious. makes me want to hug you.
