i hadn't until sam suggested we go camping in one early april 2007. almost four years ago. one of our cheapest, least posh, and closest-to-home getaways yet. this is only about two hours from where we live. it was by far one of the most fun trips we've ever taken.
this trip was also the first (& only) time i ever saw a guy get tazered by a cop. different story, different day.
who doesn't love camping? but in a space heater, open to the sky, wood framed, canvas topped, view of the stars, queen bed, kind of way? perfection.
plus, we had all the perks of a normal camp trip. hot dogs, s'mores, sam's bbq ribs over a firepit, donuts, chocolate milk. mmmm yeah, i like camp food.
hiking & our sweet little dog, dominoe.
SAM + AMY = S AM Y = SAMY. get it? |
oh to be young & in love.
i love you when you click twice & vote. seriously. i do.
Aww! Cute! Looks like fun.
ReplyDeleteCome on by for dinner we have plenty of leftovers.
Wow, how free and spontaneous life "pre-kids" used to be, eh? Biggest thing to worry about was "do they take dogs?"... Those were the days!
ReplyDeleteoh yah, that looks like my kind of camping trip. tents are such a hassle. and by the beach?? that i haven't experienced, but i hope i do at some point.
ReplyDeletehappy friday!
Random! My mom lives in a yurt! Crazy, I know. I come from a family of organic vegetable-growing, hippie farmers. The yurt is fabulous - it was super fun to build and I love staying there when I visit.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally jealous!!!! LOOOOOKS AMAZING!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE it! Staying in a YURT is still on MY{bucket}LIST....haha My list is FULL of surprises:D Very cool flash back....... LOVE the puppy photos!
ReplyDeleteFun pictures. I miss Domino! What a sweet dog :)
ReplyDeleteI've never done the yurt thing...but this post makes me want to give it a try! BTW, I have a very similar picture (taken with my sister) of the bay/inlet background...I wonder if it's the same spot? :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like an amazing trip! Where is that?
ReplyDeleteThat sounds awful in the most fun way :)
ReplyDeleteThat thing looks crazy! Looks like you guys had a great time though. :)
ReplyDeletesounds like a great time. the view looks amazing. and that is the cutest thing that your names fit together like that.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute!
ReplyDeletethat yurt thing looks a little too "organic" for my liking. a nice hotel in nyc would probably suit me just fine. :)
ReplyDeletebut yes, to be young and in love and BABYLESS. le sigh.
.. so its a tent with a door, kind of like a tee pee without a point, i think i like it. When scrolling down to the bottom of your post i was unexpectedly confronted with 'tongue on bar', still laugh out loud funny. I'm taking my kid to the supermarket and putting peanut butter on the bar for a recreation.
ReplyDeletep.s. thanks for visiting
You guys have had some great times! How cool you have recorded with so many nice pics! Love ya... oxox
ReplyDeleteI love that picture of you two. Its cute. I had fun this weekend. Thanks again for coming down!

ReplyDeleteSO this popped up on the link at the bottom of your last post and this camp ground looked EXACTLY like where we camped this memorial day weekend! we were 4 hours from vancouver though so I doubt it was the same place but COOL BEANS
