today we're flashing back to august of 2004 when sam & i were lucky enough to take a little jaunt over to our nation's capital for an extended weekend. there were definitely lots of notable notables on this trip, but today i'm only discussing one... the incident where two older ladies shamelessly sat by my {future} husband & proceeded to take a picture. we'll call it, the "cougar incident."
before going any further, i believe a definition for "cougar" must be provided. the definition provided below was the most {ahem} appropriate definition i could find on urbandictionary.com.
...only these ladies were not in their 30's or 40's. and we weren't in a nightclub or a bar. oh no. we were taking pictures of monumental landmarks around the city.
i was shooting a picture of sam in front of this pretty official looking building {i don't have any idea what building this is. this detail became a non-issue after the cougar-incident.} he was sprawled out, looking quite GQ-esque. in fact, maybe that is what attracted these fine ladies to his particular bench. because, as you can see, there were two empty benches on either side of him.
please scroll down.
these two very nice looking ladies proceeded to position themselves on sam's bench. quite cozily, i might add, & take a picture. don't you think their families back home were kinda wondering who that random twenty-something was in their picture? we'll never know, because they never said a word to us. they just went on their merry way.
and that, my friends, is why i refer to washington d.c. as "cougar town."
that was a pretty fun trip down memory lane right? deserves a vote, right? right?
HAHAHAH! Thats the best.
ReplyDeleteha, what the hell!? you guys are pretty cool to not say anything to them...
ReplyDeletebefore we moved to hampton, va we used to live super close to d.c. it's an awesome place and we hope to get back there someday.

ReplyDeleteLOL that is so bizarre!! I can't believe you weren't like "What are you doing???" I totally would have said something. And I know Charlie would have done something really crazy to them!! Too funny!
ReplyDeleteThat is hilarious! I just abolutely LOVE your blog by the way!! :)
ReplyDeleteLOL. That was totally planned. Or... maybe he just resembles one of their grandsons?? ;-)
ReplyDeleteThat is SO AWKWARD that they sat right next to him!!! I am really bubble-phobic (stay out of my bubble, please), so I'd be really freaked out if there were 2 empty benches and people chose to sit right next to me. But those cute old ladies just wanted a nice token of DC with your hunky man ;)
ReplyDeletehahahaha I remember this from back then. I laughed pretty good then and I laugh pretty good about it now. Sam's face is pretty classic.
